HONORING OUR 2019 GRADUATES
Congratulations to Our Graduates!
It’s that time of year again when we honor those who have achieved the distinction of graduating – whether it be from college, high school or even preschool. Please join with us in celebrating the accomplishments of the following young people who are part of the St. Peter’s family:
Adam Bates is the son of Cary and Michelle Bates. He graduated from Lehigh County Community College with an Associates Degree in Business and from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Management with a Minor in Business.
Adam Daniel Frantz is the son of Aaron and Megan Frantz. He graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering Technology. He is currently working at Hydro Extrusions in Cressona as a Process Engineer. Adam enjoys hunting, fishing, and racing ATV’s.
Bailey Hartung is the daughter of Curt and Suzie Hartung. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Misericordia University with a Bachelor of Health Science (Speech-Language Pathology) She was on the Dean’s List from 2015~2019. Bailey received the Trustee Scholarship, McAuley Scholarship, Curtis Family Scholarship, John E. Morgan Scholarship and the Mission Award. Bailey was a Student Research Assistant. Bailey presented at Pennsylvania Speech-Language and Hearing Association Convention in Pittsburgh & Lancaster and at the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association Convention in Boston and received a Meritorius Poster Presenter Award. Bailey was also a part of the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association Mentor/Mentee Program.
Beth Teena Kistler is the daughter of Timothy and Kimberly Kistler. She attended Lehigh County Community College and Cedar Crest College/Pennsylvania College of Health Services receiving a Bachelors of Science in Nuclear Medicine Degree. Beth received a Certificate in Nuclear Medicine Technology and a Certificate in Health Care Management. She was a member of Lamba Nu Imaging Honor Society, the Dean’s List, and was a presenter at the New Jersey Nuclear Society Symposium attaining a 3rd Place Award. She is currently completing Summer Clinicals at St. Luke’s Anderson. When she has time, she enjoys tennis and is a member of the Cedar Crest Drama Club.
William Jacob O’Neill is the son of Ranae and Thomas O’Neill. He graduated from Upper Iowa University with a Degree in Environmental Science with a Minor in Business. He received Academic, Athletic and Honors Scholarships and graduated in Csomay Honors Program and Magna Cum Laude. William played football for Upper Iowa University for 4 years and was a student Ambassador for 3 years. Activities at school included visits to the Assisted Living Facility with the football team for activities and talks/visits with the residents in Fayette, Iowa. He will be pursuing a post graduate program in Business Management at Upper Iowa University.
Scott David Zellner is the son of Shelly Babinchak and brother of Brooke Zellner. He is graduating in June from Drexel University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering and received the Constantine Papadakis Endowment Award Scholarship. While attending Drexel he was a member of the Intercollegiate Flag Football Team and Street Hockey Team. He was employed, through Drexel co-ops at ConeTec Inc., Pennoni and Associates, and Churchill Consulting Engineers. Currently he is employed at Borton-Lawson Engineering on the Land Planning & Design team as a Civil Designer. He enjoys playing golf and tennis, and attending/watching ice hockey and racing events.
High School –
Brady Moyer is the son of Craig and Trina Moyer. He will graduate from Tamaqua Area High School. Brady plays baseball for the Tamaqua Raiders. He plans to attend Lehigh-Carbon Community College to pursue a degree in Accounting. Brady enjoys hunting in his spare time.
Madison Leigh Greene is the daughter of Arlin and Allicia Greene. Madison just turned 5 years old on March 31st. She will be attending kindergarten in fall at St. Jerome’s Regional School. Madison is in her 3rd year of dance class and takes jazz and tap. She enjoys dancing, playing outside, and playing with her dolls. She recently got a scooter for her birthday that she loves to ride.
Chase Moyer is the son of Daniel and Megan Moyer of Andreas. He has an older brother Colby, who is also his best friend. Chase will be attending kindergarten at West Penn Elementary in the fall. When Chase isn't studying, he enjoys playing baseball, chess, and fishing with his Dad and Pap. He also enjoys helping his Mom around the house and loves doing the laundry. But, most of all Chase loves doing everything that his big brother does.

HONORING OUR 2018 GRADUATES
Molly Kathryn Betz is the daughter of Kristine Betz. She will be graduating from Misericordia University with a Masters of Science in Occupational Therapy, a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Bachelors of Science in Health Sciences. While attending Misericordia she was the Music Director of Beyond Harmony, an acappella group; the Misericordia Student Occupational Therapy Association serving as secretary her senior year; the Misericordia Love Your Melon Campus Crew, serving as the inaugural social media chair her senior year; a member of Peer Advocates; a member of the Occupational Therapy International Club; a member of the Cougar Cardio, serving as secretary for 3 years; and a Work Study for the Cougars Filed Hockey Team. She was a member of the Pi Theta Occupational Therapy Honor Society; she was an Occupational Therapy missionary to Jamaica in 2016; she received the Leadership and Service Award for 3 years; was on Dean’s List for 7 semesters, and was in Misericordia’s Honors Program. She did her Graduate Research on the effects of Sensory Based Strategies and Social Skill Training on the Development of Social Skills among preschool children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. She has been a volunteer at Verve Vertu Art Studio, Meadows Nursing Center and Wesley Village. She served as coordinator for 4 concerts benefitting the Make A Wish Foundation, Operation Smile and the St. Joseph’s Foundation. She acquired 200+ hours of service through the Occupational Therapy Club during her undergraduate studies. She enjoys playing the piano and flute, arranging music for acappella and socializing with her classmates (when they weren’t studying).
Joann Butkus is the daughter of Pete and Diane Butkus. Joann graduated Suma Cum Laude from Susquehanna University with department honors in Biochemistry with a Spanish minor while swimming varsity and doing research.
Anthony J. Iacoviello is the son of Tammy Iacoviello and the late James Iacoviello. He is graduating from Marywood University with a Masters of Science in Nutrition. After graduation he plans on attending Drexel University College of Medicine. While at Marywood he completed his thesis on the Prevalence of Hypertension, Type 2 Diabetes and Codiagnosis of both diseases in patients with Alzheimer’s Disease. He received the best poster award at the Research Symposium. He has competed in powerlifting competitions with USA Powerlifting and worked part-time as a Scribe at the Geisinger Wyoming Valley Emergency Room for the past 2 years where he got a little taste of what the field of medicine is all about.
Tannar Urban, daughter of Greg and Kathy Urban, graduated from Florida State University in 3 years with a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing and Professional Sales with minors in Entrepreneurship and Economics.
High School –
Chole Bates is the daughter of Cary and Michelle Bates. She is graduating from Tamaqua Area High School.
Chelsea Lynn Eckhart is the daughter of Daniel and Carissa Myers. She is graduating from Lehighton Area High School and will be attending Cedar Crest College majoring in Nursing. While attending high school she was a 2 year member of the Varsity Soccer Team, a 2 year member of the Varsity Track & Field Team and a 2 year member of the FCCLA. She received the Rachel Hoffmeir Scholarship, the Blauch Scholarship and the Cedar Crest Founder’s Scholarship. She is a 9 year 4H member and enjoys 4-wheeling, hiking, hunting, fishing and camping.
Andy Luther Fogel is the son of Jeff and Ann Fogel. He is graduating from Lehighton Area High School and will be attending the Pennsylvania College of Technology majoring in Landscape and Horticulture with an emphasis on Plant Production. He received the Andy Knappenberger Scholarship. He is a 4H livestock Club member and is currently working at Walker’s Tree Farm. Andy enjoys hunting, fishing, helping on the family farm and growing plants and produce to sell at the Lehighton Downtown Farmer’s Market.
Lainey B. Gilbert is the daughter of Lamar and Denise Gilbert and graduated in January 2018 from West Oak High School in Westminster, South Carolina due to early course completion.. She will be attending TriCounty Technical College and plans on becoming a Veterinarian Assistant.
Mitchell Kent Miller is the son of Kent and Jen Miller, grandson of Arnold and Kay Miller and Albert and Charlene Miller and great-grandson of Eldora Rex. He is graduating from Tamaqua Area High School and the Schuylkill Technology Center Welding and Technology Program. While attending school he was an Honor Student, received the American Welding Society SENSE Certification, the American Welding Society D1.1 Structural Steel Certification, the NOCTI Welding Certification and the OSHA 1-Hour Certification. He served as Vice President of SkillsUSA, was a member of Science Olympiad and the Tamaqua High School Ski Club. He also served as President of the West Penn 4-H Club and the Nocked and Loaded Archery Club. Mitch also plays on the St. Peter’s Softball Team. He enjoys hunting, farming, snowboarding, target/archery/clay shooting and 4-wheeling. Mitch plans to attend Lehigh County Community College majoring in Business Management.
Brooke Marisol Zellner is the daughter of Shelly Babinchak and David Zellner. She is a 2018 graduate from Tamaqua Area High School. She will be attending Lebanon Valley College to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. While attending high school she was a 4-year letterman on the Tamaqua Lady Raider’s Softball Team and was the Team Captain for both her Junior and Senior year. Brooke was a member of the National Honor Society and the Spanish National Honor Society. Club related activities included Biology Club, World Language Club and Step-Up Tamaqua. She was a member of the 2018 Homecoming Court. Brooke was also a recipient of the Student Recognition Committee Scholarship during the 2018 Night of Achievement Scholarship Awards. She received the Schuylkill County Medical Society Alliance Award Scholarship. Brooke was also awarded the 2018 Kyle Miller Courage Award at the Lehigh Valley All Star Softball Classic It's given in recognition of an individual who overcame adversity and showed dedication and commitment to her sport. Brooke volunteers as a coach for the West Penn Softball U12 and U14 teams for the past 3 years and also volunteers with the Mahoning Township Lions Club. She enjoys coaching for West Penn Softball, playing with her dogs Rollie & Biscuit, likes going to Heisler's and hiking with her friends, snowboarding, and of course ~ softball
Zane Zeigenfuss is the son of Craig and Amy Zeigenfuss. He has an older sister, Riley, and an older brother, Chase. Zane just turned 5 years old in May. He will be attending kindergarten in Fall at West Penn Elementary. Zane enjoys playing with his farm toys, playing outside and doing everything his big brother does.
We thank God for the gift of these young people to their families, to our faith community, and to the world in which they live. May all that they do today and in the future be a reflection of God’s glory!
