Christmas Eve Services
2:00 p.m. Meditative Service
This service is specially designed for those who don’t want to come out at night or who may be spending the holiday with family in other locations. Hear the ancient Christmas story through scripture and song. Let the Christ-light be kindled in your own heart as we participate in the candle-lighting ceremony. Holy Communion will be celebrated and shared in the pews
7:00 p.m. Traditional Family Service
Special Music begins at 6:40 p.m.
Come join with us in hearing the Christmas story retold in ways that speak especially to our families with children. Share in the delight of music joyfully made by children’s choirs. Capture the wonder of Christmas through the eyes of a child as we join in the candle lighting ceremony and celebrate Holy Communion in the pews.
10:30 p.m. Service of Word, Sacrament, Song and Light
Special Music begins at 10:10 p.m.
This is our most formal service and one that is deeply rooted in our German heritage.
We begin with a period of special music followed by a service of lessons and carols in which we hear of God’s salvation plan for creation through the birth of the Christ child. The Christmas gospel will announce, once again, the Messiah’s birth and carry us into the glory of Christmas Day. Traditional carols, candle lighting and Holy Communion, celebrated at the chancel rail will offer time for personal reflection.
